Title: Todays wrench finds
Post by: stanley62 on May 12, 2018, 08:49:20 PM
I rarely go on Craigs list and even more rare that I do a search for tools.  That said...I did and it led me to a shop from one of the buyers from the show Storage Wars...  Store was typical thrift shop with nothing I wanted...except for a large table of vintage wrenches.  I left quit a few behind due to the typical pricing method of "bigger must be worth more".  Here is what I did drag home
First pic - Left to right
1-8" HD Smith S.I.S Monkey wrench
2- I know we have seen this before ( I want to say concrete wrench)
3- 4" Mossberg -D- bicycle wrench
4- 8" Ampco? BECU pliers
5- 10" Robinson
Second pic
6- 6 1/4" Collins & Co monkey wrench
7- 7 3/4" marked Pat Applied for scissor handled pipe wrench
8- 8" Mauser Adjustable
 Third pic
9- 16" H.D. Smith monkey wrench with bolt on pipe jaw
10- 12" Unmarked Coes type monkey wrench with bolt on pipe jaw
11- Whats left of a 10" Utility Wrench co LD monkey wrench - Pat Aug 13, 1878 and Sept 4 1883 clearly stamped.  Handle it only half there.  No spring on trigger. Ferrule looks like a dog tok a bite of it...

Nice haul. Surprised they didn't over price all of them.

Nice finds, The add on pipe jaws are nice, the Atwater Utility can be restored, I've made springs for the small ones already. The bigger ones are actually harder to make because the don't come apart as easily.

that's a good amount to find in one shop, you grabbed some good ones, they will keep you busy for a while.

good luck on your repair work.  Frank

Nice. That Atwater may be your best find once you restore it.
