Title: newbie from Kentucky
Post by: papadan on October 08, 2018, 10:13:54 PM
New guy from Louisville. Found this site by accident, but have been looking for it for years. Retired or just tired old mechanic with a passion for tools and not much use for them anymore.

Hi papadan, welcome from Florida. While being "tired or retired" is not a prerequisite on this site, it does probably apply to a whole bunch of us. It’s a good friendly group, hope you like it here.

Mike

Happy to see you here papadan.   It takes a bit to get to "retired" and i have more time for tools now (you will, too!).
Hope you enjoy it with the all the good folks who participate.

Thanks for all the welcomes guys. Spent 40 years working as a mechanic. First 2 working on VWs and imports, next 20 working on everything from forklifts to bulldozers. My back got to bad for all the bending over and I switched to overhead cranes and hoists for the last 18years. Couple heart attacks, Diabetes, and inoperable back and neck problems have sidelined my working life. On disability now and just killing time with my hobbies, Leatherworking, woodworking, metalworking. Tools? I've got a couple......thousand! I've never done anything that doesn't require tools and that don't count the old and unusual tools I just gather cause their cool. I will admit a special place in my soul for Perfect Handles of any kind. If you don't know about something, just ask and I'll try and find someone that does. ;-)
