Title: DUNLAP DENATURED ALCOHOL MINI BLOW TORCH
Post by: Ken W. on March 29, 2019, 05:06:41 PM
I picked up this little Dunlap Denatured Alcohol mini blow torch today at an estate sale. I've never seen one this small.  Not that I look for blow torches , but I only see big ones. Is this rare or valuable ?

That's a Dunlap 5419 or 5421. Quite common. They were made from 1948 till 1956. Nice condition label still one that one.

Here are some Dunlap blowtorches from my Dunlap collection. The catalog page is from 1949.

I don't know about that one, but little alcohol torches were sometimes used to solder electrical connections - in the boxes, which must have called for truly competent control of the flame.

Bill, glad wire nuts were developed.
