Title: Axel W. Peterson Wrenches
Post by: Lewill2 on September 08, 2019, 09:57:54 AM
I have had an Axel W. Peterson "quick adjust" wrench in my collection for a number of years, it is the usual hard to find version with the swivel lever that is used to loosen and tighten the wedge assembly inside the movable jaw assembly.  A new variation of this patent showed up on a Facebook page a few weeks ago and I was able to make a deal with a wood plane collector on the west coast. I believe this variation conforms to a option shown as figure 4 on the patent drawing, patent 1,081,626 December 16, 1913. From what I have been able to find out so far this might be the first one of this variation to be found.

I forgot to mention that the main bar rack teeth are coarser on the new variation but the jaw and main bar dimensions are comparable so I don't think it is a modified wrench.
