Title: Sale and auction page on Facebook
Post by: Papaw on August 27, 2020, 04:47:38 PM
There is a new page on Facebook that let's members sell directly during the week, and has active auction Friday through Sunday.

Much as I’d like to look at some of those Facebook sale sites, there’s no way I’m going to let them track me all over the net and then sell the data. Maybe after iOS 14 comes out; that is supposed to stop most of the cross site tracking. There must be something good about it as Zuckerberg is already "whining" about how it’s going to cost Facebook 50% of their revenue...one can only hope.

Hello Papaw ! It's been a while. I will try this site CAN I HAVE IT Vintage Tool Auction and Sales Group and see how it goes.

I recently ran an auction on Antique Tools: Buy, Sell, and Trade and had an unresponsive winner and no reply when I asked an Admin as new member the best way to proceed. I ended up declaring the auction null and voided. Glad to find another option out there.

Papaw, I see you are happy with the new FB group. Are you doing sales or auctions ?
Want to be sure I understand how this group works before listing.

I am doing auctions. They run from Friday about 5 PM Eastern time to 10 PM Eastern time Sunday. I have gotten good response in general.  Many of the members are woodworkers and really like planes, etc. I am slowly getting some to look at wrenches. Only had one deal go sour, but between Admins, me, and the buyer, it was settled satisfactorily.

You can do Buy It Now or direct sales during the week.

Be sure to read the rules before starting. Not complicated, but important.

Quick and easy auctions without Ebay fees. Paypal is used mostly,  so be aware of fees.
