Title: adjustable jaw, vise/anvil
Post by: john k on May 08, 2012, 06:52:19 PM
Here is one of those universal tools, it will do a lot of things, just none of them real well.  Decent light weight vise, with only two inches of screw thread.  To make it bigger, pull the pin and slide the whole adjustable jaw out.  I usually see them offered as a lightweight  anvil minus the jaw.  Only mark is Pat. 1889.   From the marks on the anvil face, it did see some semi-serious work at one time.    Weighs over 50lbs, the inside of the anvil casting is all hollow from below.   Sitting there next to a broken vise I picked up for free.
