Title: Heat gun
Post by: Digr on November 09, 2013, 05:14:05 PM
I  thought that I had a great find with this, I thought it was a heat gun only to find out after getting home it was a hair dryer.

I have one also. Still works as a heat gun , but only one temp. Nicely made piece.
Yours seems older.

The top one is 1930s' vintage and missing some attachments I got no idea what for.  Same motor as was sold to retrofit foot treddle sewing machines.
Fellow who had the Reservation Store where I started life had about 10 of them sitting on a shelf for so long there was a layer of dust on the pile.  I am completely lost to explain how he thought they were a good idea given that only about 5 people on the Reservation had electric, but he sure did like trying to sell them to women.

Bottom one is 1950s, a Professional unit.

Either one is a good heat gun.

they wont burn stuff, but they should be great at heating up and removing decals ETC.
I have a high watt USA one somewhere??? a glorified hair drier HF model somewhere???? and 8 times out of 10 I have to steel the wife's hair drier to remove a sticker.
