I see some familiar names here.
« on: March 12, 2014, 12:38:23 AM »
I'm on the Garage Gazette under the same name, formerly on the GJ.

I see that the P&C loving Aussie is here. Steve, I just want to let you know that I still like that Proto socket set case you gave me!

The reason I'm here is that I have stumbled into a situation where I need to expand my knowledge of OLD tools. An acquaintance of mine inherited a large amount of tools and I, being the tool guy, was approached about sorting and selling all of his father's old tools. Of course I agreed.

So... Y'all need to be prepared for lots of photos and questions!

Welcome, from Nebraska.   Expanding our knowledge, I think we all do, then when we believe we got a handle on it, up pops a new source, direction, or maker.   The sheer ingenuity of the tool makers in the past 150 years is humbling.

Welcome! So what's the story behind the 9250 name?
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

Hey, thanks for the welcome!

I'm NinetyTwoFifty because of my 1990 F250 that just keeps going like the Energizer bunny.

I only have two wrenches with me but I'll post some photos of them. One appears to be pretty old, maybe hand forged. I can see a manufacturer's stamping but can't quite make out what it says. Which reminds me, I'll be asking for some advice on how to clean these without damaging them.
