unnamed and heavy

this unnamed and heavy adjustable weighs in at just under half a kilo..it is pictured next to a 6 inch williams for scale..it has a good precise action on a fine thread. why would someone make such a tool and not brand it ?

It sort of has the look of a shop project, to me at least...
Tho, if I had gone to all the trouble to make something as nice as that, I think I would put my initials on it at least....
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Yes, I see a shop made tool there, and a good job of it. I would have put my name or initials on that!
