Rockwell Jigsaw
« on: October 12, 2016, 10:00:10 AM »
I picked up this old Rockwell jigsaw w/ original metal case at a yard sale for $10. I figure it will work better than my antique Black &  Decker.... As pretty much anything is better than Black &  Decker :P My only concern, is it appears to use F-shaped blades, which I've never seen before...

A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.

Do they look like this?        https://www.amazon.com/Hook-Shank-Jig-Saw-Blades-sawblade/dp/B003NFEK6Y
Close! They have a second little protrusion.... Yoh can see one in the picture of the saw, if you look through the handle-hole...

But that will probably work, thanks much!

Hello, Twilight. That is the correct blade for that saw, that Bill posted. .The catalog lists that saw as a Bayonet Saw, looks from here like a Model 548. Probably Made in USA, maybe even here in Syracuse when Rockwell was still in town. I have reprints of the owner's manuals, pm me if you are looking for paperwork.Regards, Lou

As mentioned, it's a number 548. These were made by Porter-Cable, then by Rockwell nad finally by P-C again before being discontinued. If you go on Amazon and search for Porter-Cable 548 blade, you can buy the blades. They are great saws. They will outsaw anything made today.
