Very small blacksmiths hammer
« on: February 08, 2017, 06:54:05 PM »
While this little guy might be a stretch for the 6 in. club, I have put it here, even though the overall length of the handle is 7 in. More importantly, the head is only 1 3/4 in. long. The width of the cross peen is 5/8 in.

This is not your normal cast iron piece of junk hammer, but rather a well made miniature hammer that is finished as well, or even better than its larger brethren. It appears to be steel although I don't think it is forged.

I've seen these little guys before but the last time was at a flea market and the seller was extremely proud of them so he got to keep them. This one was priced a little better. I don't know who made them as I have never seen one that was marked.

Has anybody else seen them?

Mike

Got a couple of full size ones with that shape and scallops.  Do not believe there is a name on them either.  Very interesting.
