Neat! Makes me wonder if it was a specific adjustment tool included with some other device, or whether it was part of a whole kit of rosewood handled sockets?

Edit: I'm leaning towards the former. It doesn't seem like you could put very much torque on that handle with breaking it.

I saw one exactly like this at an antique store 6 months ago, they called it a gas lamp tool and wanted $49.95 (which is why I didn't buy it). The sales lady didn't have any info on it as it was being sold on consignment.

That is the earliest nut driver I've ever seen and I can't believe there are no pipe wrench or plier marks on the handle.
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.
