Need speeder handle w/attached 3/4'' socket identified
« on: June 15, 2017, 07:25:19 AM »
Found this at one of the pawn shops I visit weekly. All chrome handle & socket, with the socket attached to a ball shaped end so it will swivel back and forth only not 360. Handle & socket measure 22 3/4'' overall, socket is removable by taking out a phillips head screw which so far I haven't been able to get out (patience). NO identifying marks anywhere, anyone seen something like this in your searches for something new, old, weird? TIA for your help.

My guess would be a low volume assembly line tool, could be for anything from lawnmowers to office furniture to playground equipment. With no markings it will be tough to ID.

looks like a tool for cranking open awnings over a patio or windows to keep out the sun.

Thanks for all the great answers guys, I was sorta expecting answers along those lines, especially since the socket is semi permanently attached and would be/is a pain to get off, still trying.

Test that "screw" to make sure it's not a left hand thread.
