Wrench Display Board
« on: March 19, 2018, 05:20:26 PM »
I'm altering this post to include multiple wrench display boards I'm making. There may be a few other displays added in here as well. As of now I like the theme of the displays I'm making. All are maple with maple plywood to direct the focus on the tools themselves. These will be hung with the Williams board and some others at some point in the future.

Just finished up another wrench display board. These Hinsdale wrenches date from the 1930's and were made in the Chicago area. While this collection didn't require the tenacity the Williams collection did, it did take a number of years from the 1st wrench to the completed display. Let's just say I lost my focus on a number of things in life and am now playing catch-up. The advertisement is out of a Popular Science magazine from June of 1929. It's a paper copy that's taped on. Later this week I'm get a photo print of the ad made at Walgreen's and will adhere it to the board for the finishing touch.

Very nice!  I have the set, but mine are mounted in a simple picture frame.  Nice work!

I've got to agree with everyone else. Its all in the details.
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.

A NOS Craftsman open end wrench set from the early 70's. I incorporated an emblem from a table saw parts machine to break up the vinyl cutting theme a bit. I also considered using an emblem off an old tool box.

Another display board done.  This one is a set of angle head Snap-On wrenches.  I'd love to have the complete set of angle head wrenches Snap-On offered but I simply can't afford them.  The board is the exact same construction as all the rest.  However, I modified a Snap-On catalog page for the header of this board.  It will be photo printed and adhered at a later date.  The standard paper print is a place holder for now.

And a couple more. First is a display of some vintage locks that belonged to my grandfather. Next is a Barcalo wrench display with a print of the patent document.

Wow. Those are very nice display boards.Makes me want to get to my ass out to the shop and try to do something along those lines. Any chance you could tell me what sizes that set of Barcalos include?
