Howdy from Texas
« on: March 31, 2018, 02:11:31 PM »
I'm a long time user and collector of tools that went to college to be a shop teacher but got side tracked into industry and ended up working for 2 motor companies.  Now I just tinker with stuff and run my Ebay store "BigTexasYardSale".  Came to this board looking for information on vintage tools and the occasional "What the heck is this?".

Welcome from British Columbia.
We still have winter up here. It had been thawing for the last 2 weeks or so but yesterday we got 7 1/2" of snow and this morning it was 3 below. We were in Maui 12 days ago so it was pretty hard coming back to this.

I hear you!  I remember Mid-western Springs where it got up to 50F and we'd go outside in shorts and wash our cars.  Then I move to the UP and found out what winter was really about.  Moved to Southern California after that and I swear it took 5 years just to thaw out-LOL

The Upper Peninsula (UP), also known as Upper Michigan, is the northern of the two major peninsulas that make up the U.S. state of Michigan.

That's right. I heard some towns in the U.P. got another 12" of snow earlier this week. I think winter doesn't end up there until mid-July sometime.

Finally getting better up our way, been above freezing during the day for the last week or so. Ice on the river we live on started moving 2 days ago so the center 50 feet or so is clear and the river is starting to come up. Might be spring at last.
