DRIVER open end wrench
« on: April 02, 2018, 10:18:05 PM »
Hi all. Forgive me for not having pictures, but I have a question about a wrench I picked up several years ago. It was misplaced after my initial attempt to research it. Hopefully the description will jog someone’s memory.

This wrench looked like a typical old rusty double open end wrench. The markings were the word “DRIVER” embossed toward one end, with I believe an arrow as well.

My gut told me it went to a vehicle tool kit of some sort, American or Euro. What reminded me was the Gearbox wrench thread.

Ring a bell to anyone?

Hey there 3bay.
Just a wag but may be for a walker-turner driver line series machine
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.

Thanks, a good guess. Was looking up the machines but haven’t seen related tools.

After Googling around a bit, I see there’s a Driver wrench at Bolt’s Antique Tool Museum. It’s a part of their board of tool brands and in their list of brands. Maybe they have info on it.

I do not have an answer, but if I remember right, Pierce-Arrow used something on their ads like a line with <------->, but the line was solid.

I got this tool board with metal spinning tools, most of them are Driver brand, could the spot for a wrench be a Driver? I don't know if they made or branded wrenches. Sorry I don't have a pic of the logo on the tools.

Here is a pic of the logo on the 1930's-50's Driver branded spinning tools. Logo is the same as other branded tools, does it match your wrench?

Oldgoaly, I do believe that’s it. Thanks for the picture. Looks like my description was more than a bit off as it’s a line, not an arrow. I kept thinking the name was on a slant though.

Thanks bill300d, you were right. Walker Turner The Driver Line appears to be the brand.

As I look around, it appears there was a wrench sold online this week.

Not mine but from the listing:
