W logo trim emblem
« on: April 15, 2018, 10:13:41 AM »
I know this is not a tool, but there is a LOT of knowledge on here, so try this one.
I bought this great chrome, cast metal, trim piece a auction. The auctioneer said it was off a VW bus and I knew that was wrong right away.
I guessed it was Willys truck or van. Could find none with this. Then I guessed White truck or step van. No luck. Next I guessed Wurlitzer juke box or speaker. Nope. Western locomotive??  Any guesses?? I would love to know and better yet, see a photo of what it belongs on.

Sometime when I'm researching something I'll get tunnel vision.  Maybe you are looking at it wrong?

The Winged W looks eerily familiar.  I'll be thinking this over.

No Westinghouse or Worthington logos match this. It is rounded so as to fit on the nose of something. 10 flathead screw mounting holes.  A plane, boat, car, locomotive or ??????.

That is a foot ruler. It measures 15 inches at wing tips.

Mike Wolfe has been contacted for his opinion. He is the American Pickers guy. Have not heard back yet.
