Old Friends
« on: April 18, 2018, 04:19:25 PM »
Some old friends are back together again. I believe the 6 wrenches pictured were all developed by the same maker. I picked up the 2 on the left at this past weekends MVWC auction. They were part of the Hillary Klein collection that was sold. The 4 on the right I picked up off of eBay several years ago. I believe they were made in the New England area. I'm glad they are back together again, maybe there are more out there. Each one has some unique design features and all 6 are quick adjust in some manner.

nice group that you have there. are there any markings at all ??

I always wanted to go to at least 1 meet before my time is up, last year was close,  but health stopped me.. I still have hopes.
I had told my wife that I was going before turning 80, now I tell her 85 ???

Neat designs! Talented machinist or genius tinkerer?
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

Yay! I'm glad to see them back together again too. Hopefully there are some more siblings out there that will show up someday.  :)

That being said, I am quite curious about these wrenches. I examined the two on the left very closely at York. The machine work on them is exquisite, clearly the work of an accomplished machinist. And the quick-adjust features are pretty cool too. I suspect they are "design prototypes", built to test out or fine tune the mechanism, and are not necessarily what the final production wrenches would have looked like. (Had the design ever progressed into the production stage that is, which it apparently never did...)

You need to make a display to show those off!

Ah, a suitable residence indeed. Looks great Les. Only thing is the "home" may get a bit crowded if any more relatives show up! Haha, a good problem to have
