The good news
« on: May 10, 2018, 10:25:54 PM »
The good news!  I bought a small logo pre-1923 Snap-on 1/2" sliding T bar.
The bad news....  Some jackwad had used it as a punch.  Mushroomed one end and ruined the other, as well.
But I couldn't resist it because of the logo on the head.
I know it is virtually worthless, but still....

Yeah, I feel your pain. I found an early Bog 5/8 socket, the one I needed to finish a set. After looking it over I noticed it had a crack down the side, thus worthless. Bought it anyway for a quarter just to fill the gap in the set.

I believe in buying a wanted wrench no matter how bad it is, if the price is right.

you never know if you will find that wrench again, at least you have one to show.

I feel the ame way, I'd rather have a bad example for my collection than nothing at all, you can always upgrade. Some guys won't buy if isn't top of the line, not me if it a rare bird.

I failed to mention that I did not always feel this way about buying a filler until a good one shows up,  and I am still seeking
another example of a few that I passed on.

  just another lesson on life.

Couldn't you chuck it up on a lathe and clean up the ends? It'll never be collectible or pristine, but you wouldn't get sick every time you open the set and look at it.
