Anyone from GG is welcome here- even Bruce!

I'm trying. It always takes me a long time to warm up to a new place. Lots of familiar names here though.

Getting antsy, GG and MG have been down for 10 days or so.  Ouch !!! It is a gracious host to give us this space to stay together.

Still waiting for them to get the servers in and the hard drives swapped.

The real killer is that I'd just started a rsync to a new server in Dallas when everything went down.

Ray has posted everything that we know at the moment.

I'm out of town and on the cell so I may be slow on updating this thread.

I tried to bring up the backups on the new server (new data center) but the databases were corrupt. Ray had alerted me that he was getting database errors when trying to connect but I couldn't replicate them. It never occurred to me that AWS S3 was in the Virginia area.

We may end up having to do as PaPaw did in 2011 and restart from the ground up. I'm holding off on setting up new sites hoping that they manage to get the servers live again and I can transfer the data out.

Rusty  who beating his head against the wall.

Good to hear from you Rusty !

After GG is cleared up, we should talk about a few issues I have with Tool Talk.

I think I can speak on behalf of all the GG users saying we really appreciate all the work you do with the site. Thanks.

Sorry to hear things are still AWOL at GG. Been logging in once a day just to see if it's back. The longer it goes the worse I think things will get (but I'm no computer person).
Another thanks to Papaw for being a "refugee" hangout! lol

Hey Shawn, we miss you, glad you found us.  We didn't have anyway to get a hold of everyone when the servers crashed, but glad you found us.

ha, yeah. was getting a little worried. day after day after day. i ALMOST put my phone down and did work... WORK, GUYS! the horror!!
lol, i tried searching every conceivable forum i could think of looking for some names to at least try to contact someone to see what the heck happened... i did not turn up anything. if it werent for Marks yahoo page, i would have had to just wait for MG to come back. yikes.

(read: we have been incredibly busy. we FINALLY started the work on that rotten house we were ACTUALLY supposed to do there. how long has it been, two three weeks? i have a few photos. im on a PC currently, ill have to post them from my phone.

Nope. Can't. Files are too big. They fit on MG but not here. And it doesn't appear this site is on tapacrap (tapacrap fixes the file sizes for you).
Sorry, no photos.
