Lister made in England wrenches
« on: June 11, 2018, 12:29:03 AM »
I have a chance to get an old DOE in whitworth branded Lister.

It looks 1890's to mid 1920's and is well worn.  Is this a good guess of when and what was the name known for?

I still have to negotiate price with a difficult seller but curiousity kills.
The only bad tool is the one that couldn't finish the job.  Ironicly it may be the best tool for the next job.

Lister has made engines and machinery for decades. Your wrench could be post WWII.

Search Grace's Guide - https://www.gracesguide.co.uk/Main_Page if you can narrow down which Lister made it you may be able to get an idea of when it was made.

Nice set Henri!  If they match that will narrow the Grace's Guide search (B.A. Lister).

Yes.   It has that profile with Lister on one side and 'made in England '  on the other.  Plain block letters.

Otherwise just the sizes on the ends.

  Beautiful set there.
