The cutest little adjustable ever

Found amongst my late father's tools ...







Description:
  • One side reads: "COVENTRY MOVEMENT Co"
  • The other side reads: "The E.B.C Pat No 263633"
  • Range of adjustment: approx 6mm to 9.5mm
  • Action: plier-like, not parallel
  • Era: Mid 20th Century (best guess)
  • Original Purpose: Horology
  • Dad's Purpose: Probably telecoms (UK Post Office)

Probably not made to be used as a wrench, more likely a clamp or holding device. It is probably a UK patent or some other European country.
