Recent tool sale finds
« on: December 07, 2018, 12:32:12 PM »
Stopped in a sale place yesterday and found these along with the New Britain brake tool posted elsewhere.

A 1/4" drive SK Wayne ratchet # 40970 that has lost the circlip that holds it together. The previous owner rigged it so it still works.  Only 4 3/4" long.

A Proto Made In USA 3/8" drive extension only 1 3/4" long- #559 with PO initials SC scratched on.

A lot easier to wire it up than to find a new clip--which would likely require buying a whole rebuild kit.
No more often than a fellow uses a 1/4", it wouuld be easy to just put it away and worry about other things rather than getting a correct repair for it.

If anyone has the correct clip and wants the ratchet, just say so. Or if you have the clip and would send it to me, same- just say so. Would travel cheap.

I have two of those ratchets to spare, Noel, and I probably have a loose circlip in my 1/4" ratchet parts stash. I'll dig around over the weekend and get something heading your way Monday.
