Parallels & Parallels
« on: April 01, 2019, 05:54:35 PM »
Hello, I knew that someday I would find a use for these machinist parallels in woodworking. I am doing a repair on a drawer front of a thread spool cabinet. The break was angular across the end grain, so I had to come up with a way to keep things aligned for clamping. The parallels were stiff enough to keep the face of the wood in line, and the wood glue did not stick to the steel. I can see where water from the glue meeting the steel could be a problem leaving a stain on the wood, but everything broke free & clean. Regards, Lou

Ha, good one Lou! As a CNC milling machine operator I use parallels every day. But I've never used them for that before.
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.
