Craftsman C underline H in a circle deep sockets
« on: April 04, 2019, 04:58:43 PM »
These showed up at an auction on a table with mostly MAC and Snap-on tools.  They made the entire table choice and the prices went through the stratosphere.  I figured someone would take them before the price came down to my level, but apparently no Craftsman collectors were present. They are in the original box and missing only the 3/4 and 7/16 sizes.  However, they will not be easy to find as deep sockets were not that common prior to WW-2. Might someone have those sizes??

I can't help, but I love those early C-man tools.

BTW, what was it that drove the bids through the stratosphere?

BBTW, does anyone know what sizes make up a 1/2" Plomb deep socket set?  I must be getting fairly close.

First choice on the table went for sets of MAC and Snap-on sockets in holders.  There were 11 sockets in each set and they went for $88.00 each.  Compared to my Craftsman deep sockets which went for $25.00.

I will check my stash-not really sure that I have any?    Is the box a blue gray finish with the Craftsman underline on top of lid in Yellow?    I had a simular typoe of box.

Yes, the box is a blue-gray finish and it had underline labels both inside and outside although most of them are gone.

The Plomb deeps go from 1/2” through 1-1/8” plus one 12 point 7/8” thin wall spark plug socket.

Thanks, d42jeep.  I found 9 sockets and only one is a duplicate.  I will get there eventually.
