A good handful of smalls
« on: May 16, 2019, 05:23:33 PM »
First in line at an estate sale meant first to rummage through an old Kennedy machinist box (I didn't want the box). A couple of firsts for me, the Boos Tool Corp adjustable, and the Snap-On M-70 9/32 ratchet. The early Craftsman, Herbrand, pair of Plumbs, a Superrench, and three Dunlap's will all get cleaned and put in the correct drawers with others of their kind. And the late model Diamond Tool and Horseshoe 6" lineman's pliers still on cardboard is nice. Ready?... (no hate mail please)… $5!

Kidding aside, that was a good day.

I have that BOOS adjustable.  Made east of me in KCMO.  Not many tools from here.  Wilde was in KCMO but moved to Hiawatha KS in 1950.
And there was the TUFFY by the Swallow Airplane Co. Inc. of Wichita, a screwdriver with the heavy aluminum handle and the swing out feature that gives great torque.  BTW, I have seen that screwdriver with a plastic handle, as well.  White or ivory, I believe.
Like so:

What else do you know of that came from KS or MO--excepting Simmons/Norvell/Shapleigh/KKutter out of St. Louis?

Nice.  Is that a baby alligator wrench, top right, in the first picture?

No idea on this one, but I wasn't going to leave it for the guy in line behind me!

TJ 507 8 is all it says.
