Using your old blacksmith tools to fix other old tools
« on: June 01, 2019, 08:22:56 AM »
Well the wife brought home this fence tool from a auction about a year ago. I had it in a post vice soaking the stuck part in atf / acetone which has worked well before. Well time to use some heat. Fired up the coal forge, a little paper, twigs and coal and made a small fire. Only needed a small fire cause only one part of the tool was rusted tight. 15 minutes from starting the fire to pouring water to put it out and it is working now!Made a little more smoke than normal cause the atf burning off.

Good work OG! Now you can finally get to work building that fence.
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.
