Kenyon backsaw
« on: July 12, 2019, 11:57:03 AM »
Got myself a 12" blade backsawaw with split nuts and a brass back marked KENYON over CAST dot STEEL with an inscribed date? 1809.
Don't get tooooo excited. It has only half a tote.
I haven't found one exactly like it on the net.
It appears that the company existed from roughly 1750 through 1900.
What should I do next?
 Any thoughts?
The ORIGINAL Northwoods.

That’s an early saw, I’m going to look them up also.

If you can find a picture or figure out the tote from what you have you need to make a new one.  But, save the old one also.
