Plomb screwdriver
« on: September 21, 2019, 10:20:39 PM »
How is it that I can stop by the flea on the afternoon of the third day, walk up to the screwdriver box at the dollar table and see a Plomb #9706 screwdriver on the top of the pile? Six inch handle and six inch blade. Steel cap is tight, and the blade tip is crisp. Only a 1/2" crack at the ferrule.
Now, it's mine. Naturally.

When I sold tools at swap meets this year (4 times) screwdrivers were one of the least interesting boxes for people browsing.  I had low prices, too.  One box of drivers was 3/$1 and only had one sale.

I have found very few Plomb screwdrivers over the years. All the ones I have found had plastic handles. Never have found a wooden handled one, but have found several Proto wood handled ones. I have had many Plomb tools over the years, but I only collect Plomb ratchets. I have been selling all the other Plomb tools to generate money for other tools. I like Proto tools a lot. I don't collect P&C brand tools, but have over 400 of them.

Found another one Friday. A 6" Phillips No. 9782.
Only one problem.  My Plomb turned out to be a Proto Los Angeles.
Cleaned, oiled, and waxed it.  Looks like a Plomb now.  ;-)
