Craftsman logo paint removal
« on: October 08, 2019, 02:13:41 PM »
I bought a two story Craftsman toolbox a while back and it has been repainted gray including the blimp logos.  Does anyone know how to remove one layer without taking the paint off of the logo?

Strictly guessing here,  try a heat gun and a scraper with a smooth edge that won't scratch.  A chemical paint remover may work if it loosens the paint quick enough without disturbing the logo underneath.

Hello, John. I am with Al on that one. Trial, and hopefully, not error. Not knowing the chemical make-up of the top coat, or, the chemical make-up of the logo, the gentle approach is needed!!!Regards, Lou
