I tried to pm a member several times from my IPad. I always get an error message.  Is it the IPad or something else causing my problem?

Have you googled that and your device?  It's how I figure out what's wrong most of the time.

John, Have you tried doing a 'soft reset' on your ipad. That is, hold the power button down until the slider appears at the top that says "slide to power off". Power it off, wait 20-30 sec. and then hold the power button down until the apple  appears. Release button and wait for it to reboot.

This may fix it, it certainly wont hurt, and is the simplest thing to try.
