Looking for 1/4-20 Craftsman Kromedge tap
« on: April 19, 2020, 12:04:34 AM »
Hi
I'm looking for 1/4-20NC Craftsman Kromedge tap to fill in the gap in my Craftsman 5201 tap and die set. Right now I have a Home Depot replacement sitting in its place.  Doesn't look right. I should have looked at the part number before I threw out the broken one.

IF these are a 'user' set, don't get too excited about it.
Taps, like drill bits, sanding belts, etc., are usually considered perishable tooling or expendable.

IF these are for a 'collector' set, you may not match the set exactly, but Craftsman taps are probably around.  Might have to dig a little.

Please post a picture of another Kromedge tap for an example.

I've got the taps I was looking for. Many thanks to FrankLee for the 1/4-20 tap and IPtools for the 5/16-18 tap.
I was cleaning up my 45 year old set to post in the "Sears/Craftsman SAE Tap and Die Set" thread of the "Classic Auto and Motorcycle" forum and noticed that I have two 7/16- 14 dies and no 7/16-20.  Now I know I’ve never used either of those in the 45 years since I bought the set. It had to have been like that since the beginning. How observant am I?
Anyway, if anyone out there runs across a Craftsman Kromedge 7/16-20 hex die P/N 52282 and is willing to part with it, please let me know.
And I guess I have a spare 7/16-14 die.

Again, thanks to Iptools and FrankLee for the help.
