interesting pad hacksaw

this is a Hale Hamilton ,London ,Padhacksaw, spring loaded, never seen one before, are they common somewhere

I have one exactly the same, got it in the late 50s or early 60s? Only seen one or two others the same and there is a modern copy that doesn't look as well made. They do work better than the normal pad saw handle in some situations.

The spring/rod thing is just a guide, the rest is just a typical handle on a saw blade...

This one is easier to visualize, with a blade ....
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.
