Looking for Alderman wrench Information
« on: June 05, 2011, 07:09:06 PM »
I am Looking for information on Alderman Mossberg wrenches.  I have seen in photos and descriptions of both 5.5 and 6 inch sizes and I was wondering if there are other sizes?  I remember a post on the old board about someone looking for multiple sizes of Alderman wrenches.  Any info would be appreciated on available sizes?

Thanks to alloy artifacts for the photo

Thanks,

I have one Mossberg Alderman wrench and have seen two others listed in Mossberg Catalogs:

Alderman No. 15 - 6" with 3/16" thick jaws and tire tool end listed in 1907 & 1917 catalogs.

Alderman No. 20 - 6" with 1/4" thick jaws and tire tool end listed in 1917 catalog.

The one I have in my collection is marked "Alderman" without a number. It is 5-7/8" long with the tire tool end.

Bus:

Thanks, My Alderman must be a 15, e.g. it's 6 inches long with 3/16" jaw thicknesses.

Thank You very much for the information, I now know I am looking for a number 15 wrench.  Is the wrench actually marked with a 15 or just by jaw size?

Thanks,
Kirk

I have never seen an Alderman marked 15 or 20. Ir seems strange that Mossberg wouldn't mark them. They are only listed in early catalogs for a short time so maybe they didn't sell many.

I had to go dig out my Mossbergs, and I don't have an Alderman.

They seem pretty rare, I have never seen one on ebay only in MVWC auctions and one on MJD tools that was sold quite a while ago.

Thanks,
Kirk
