I have a old skillsaw 77. It's way better then my new dewalt worm drive. I would rather use the skill 77 then the new one.
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

Upon vfurther inspection, I see that my "worker" 77 indeed has a plastic handle, I guess I didn't notice.  It likely didn't save much weight, so I hope it saved folks some money over the years.  That saw may as well have a  007 style laser on it the way it cuts.....

There's a YouTube video of a guy with an 825 sawing all the way across a 14-16" diameter log in 3 different directions.

I love the extra weight as it allows me to make much straighter long cuts.

That 77 you have... with the plastic handle... is from at least 1986 and no later than 1991, but the part of the decal with the date code embossed on it has been torn due to age. SN is #HB713262.

The 825 is from about 1948 while the older 77 appears to be from the 1960s.
