My first car, that I bought with my own money was in 1955 and it was a 1949 Studebaker Starlight coupe.  Standard shift with overdrive.  Flat head six.

My first car was a 1962 Studebaker Lark 4 door with a flat head inline 6 and an automatic trans.  It did not need a speedometer - it needed a calendar.

My current ride is a 1968 El Camino with over 400,000 miles on it.  I am the second owner and have had it for well over 35 years.

>1962 Studebaker Lark 4 door with a flat head inline 6 and an automatic trans...

At least it had a 3 speed tranny.

My boss started with a 55 dodge, with the 2 speed tranny, zero to 60 ....eventually.

One of the pecular things about it tho, the reverse planitary gear set is the same size as the low speed gear set, so, in theory, the car can be driven at 55mph in reverse...

(And backup lights were optional..)

Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

My first car was a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 426 Hemi, factory air, 4 speed center console, Dana 60 rear end. ........Ok it was actually a 1970 Plymouth Sattelite with a slant 6 904 automatic and 7 1/4 pumpkin but in my mind for many years it was gonna get that hemi.

Now I drive a 1996 Toyota Tercel back and forth to work. Not sure what happened but I enjoy the little Tercels nearly as much as I laugh at every gas station I pass :)
Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

If it isn't too late to chime in on this thread:

My first car was a '73 Chevelle. I loved that old car.

250 six banger, with a three on the tree.
