Scary - this found after a nearby 10/15/12 explosion that resulted in a 7200' plume.

That is downright scary!   When I was in the military, there were books of safety protocol to be followed.  Of course this is private, but still.   Be nice to move a trailer house in the middle of this and have the managers responsible live there til its all dispersed.  During the VietNam war, a single semi load of high explosive shells was being moved,  on a 4 lane.   Had all the proper permits, flag cars, and a sniper got a lucky shot at it.    It took out two lanes for close to 200 feet, part of the other two,  and the truck?  They found the engine block and part of an axle hundreds of feet away.   That was only 40,000 lbs at most.   Take that times 20!

This has been a number of years ago, but a whole semi of Prell (?) destined for the coal mines of East Central Utah went off and left a heck of a hole!

 

And no one got hurt! I can't remember the exact story, but the driver knew something was wrong and ran and blocked the road. Kind of a hero, I guess!

I always try to hurry on by when I see that orange diamond on the side of the semi's!
