Delco Light Plant Wrenches
« on: April 14, 2013, 12:41:34 PM »
I have seen the usual five Delco Light Plant Wrenches.
(I am omitting any mention of small ignition or magneto style wrenches for this post.)

No. 28248 and No. 28282, both marked "DELCO LIGHT PLANT"

Also No. 90257, 90258, and 95095, all not marked Delco but understood to be.

All five have some usage marked on both sides such as: "Connecting Rod", or "Spark Plug", or whatever.

I have recently seen another wrench No. 96080, though the numbering is not crystal clear.  Could be 95080 or something else.
It certainly looks like it belongs with the others.
A closed hex opening at each end.
Usage is "BASE PLATE SCREWS" and "MOTOR MOUNTING SCREWS".

Sorry, no picture capability at the moment.

ANYONE EVER SEEN OR HEARD OF THIS WRENCH?

Is this a sixth Delco Light Plant Wrench?

A few years ago i had a Delco little Joe light plant ( generator). Delco is short for Detroit Light Company. I have since sold it, but may still have some pictures of it.

The MVWC Newsletter is still a hard copy only critter -- photocopied from a "master."  The club's whole web presence needs major work. -- Stan Schulz, Newsletter Editor

I have found a wrench that is clearly marked 90559.
It appears to be similar to the one identified as 90569 but appears to be 90859 in the photo.
The one I have has the right angle socked ‘equalized’ rather than offset like the one in the photo.
It is about 7.25 OAL and both sockets are about 3/4.

What exactly is pictured above?  90569 or 90859 or ???

What exactly do I have?  A variation of the above, (like the 90258 wrenches)?

Or is this something else?

Some of the Delco wrenches were apparently made by Dayton, and have a circle around the letter D for a logo.

The 90258 wrenches have a logo that looks somewhat like a maltese cross.

Does anyone know who the manufacturer of those 90258 wrenches could be?

Can anyone provide a copy of "Pg. 11, Sept 2008 MVWC Newsletter devoted to DELCO wrenches"?

Thanks
Tom
