What is this wrench for?
« on: April 25, 2013, 10:31:39 AM »
My daughter found this wrench at an auction. I cannot find any information about what it is for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think Skip is right.  I have the same recollection that it is one end of another wrench.  Or it could be that they were made both ways (one end and two end).

My recollection that it was a Z wrench paid off.  Here are two on EBay that may be it or similar to it.

Skip - There are no numbers or other markings on the tool.

wvtools - This wrench looks similar to the ones you linked to on ebay but it is not double eneded and as best I can tell was never "cut in half".

Thanks for the help so far.

As I remember, only one end of the Z wrench was for the generator, the other was for something else.
So, perhaps an aftermarket wrench for ford....

(An enormous number of companies sold 'unofficial' repair tools for the Fords..)
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

What you have is half of the Ford 5-Z-806 wrench (as was stated above).  Some one just did a very good job of doing it.  I have come across many Ford tools that were modified to fit the users need, some of them also very well done.

The application of the small end must have been easier to do with a shorter wrench.   I have seen others cut like that one.
