I'm afraid my son's car is sitting out at my brother's place with nothing being done. The city made me move it out to the county because it was not inspected and insured.

With the studio owning it, may be really tough to get it away from them.   I know about the sentimental value of things, and movie memorabilia, but a picture of the old Cadillac is a lot easier to own than a 50+ year old, 3 ton automobile that when restored would get maybe 5mpg.   Would probably be a drawing card at auto shows.    I wonder why the bumper was removed?

Strange!  a buddy of mine has built replicas of the Green Hornet and Batman cars for a person in Canada. The RCMP's were all over him about the working machine guns, now they come to hangout and bring coffee! Here is a link to a youtube video  the Windsor Star did on him.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2USA7Bi5mnM  Jim's a Super guy!  been lucky to visit twice, each time I thought I was there a couple of hours turned out to be 12 hrs, like some kind of a time warp! A movie car should hold it's value and be a money maker for a museum.  Shame to see the old Caddy in such a state, but it's restorable!!!!

My son (Papawskid) says the people running the effort to get that car are not ones he and his group are friends with in the Ghostbusters circles.
He said- "...considering who is behind the petition, I'm not very supportive of the whole thing.  If it were anyone else, I'd be behind it."

There were at least two used in the movies, and perhaps more mock-ups for distance shots.

And I thought I was the only person this has happened to.

For a long time, I would start the car and drive it around a little bit, then park it on the other side of the drive, or back it in. This satisfied the city for a couple of years, but maybe a new inspector saw that I didn't move it for a month recently and sent me a notice.
