1940's CASCO Electri-Craft Tool
« on: May 07, 2011, 06:16:51 PM »
This is one of my finds at an estate sale today. It is from the 1940's, runs at 20,000 rpm in either a/c, or d/c, at 110 volts. It is complete with all the original papers, has more bits than it came with originally, and even has the key for the case lock.

I probably will not use it, as I have 3 dremmels already. I just love to look at the craftsman ship of these old treasure's, as you know. And this one was probably destined for the dump, if it did not sell. So, I figure it is another tool saved from the bone yard, for my collection, for a mere 5 bucks.

based on the date on the label picture, looks like this pre-dates dremel.  Nice price paid on a very nice, complete tool.

Thanks "bc_z". I should know what year the dremel's showed up on the market, but I forgot! What year was it, if you know?

I found 1 this spring at a garage sale for $5 I had to put a new cord on it. The pamflet that was with it was copyrighted 1947. Works great.

Cool, and welcome to the site "elite1grey". I used mine for the first time last week, and noticed the bits seemed to cut better, and last longer than my new age dremel. I'm lucky in that the cord on mine is in good shape. Sounds like you scored big time with the 5 buck price! Show us some pictures of it, if you can!
