This weekend was "Wintercycle Therapy" a motorbike show at the museum. A good time with friends in a great setting. I took some photos with you guys in mind of some of the tools on display. I spotted this interesting wrench and researched it when I got home. It is a Starbuck Spud Wrench. I was disappointed that it wasn't some engine tool for aircraft and it's not real old - from 1950 or so - but it is just a humble plumbing tool. It was displayed with a group of turn-of-the-century tools so the director was glad to find out it did not belong there. I asked him not to throw it in a box but to keep it on display - maybe in the Restoration Shop. The Starbuck Company began in 1872 servicing coal burning heaters. Apparently it is still existing today with the original factory still intact.

The shop is full of lathes, milling machines, sanders, grinders and here is an example of how they use all these tools. This is a flying model (not for display only) of a Curtiss Fledgling under construction.

Cool pictures, and neat wrench. Here I thought they just made expensive coffee.
