Title: New member, needing help with 3 tools please.
Post by: rrobertscv on February 25, 2014, 10:00:51 AM
I have had these for awhile now. The first one is the one I am most interested in knowing what it is, was told it was some type of old motorcycle tool. On the other two, I would like to know the correct name for each one. Also, any ideas on the age of these? Thanks for any help.

The first tool looks like part of a Duro socket set. The second two are lovely knife handled monkey wrenches. Can you see the makers mark? The third item is a bolt cutter. Might be HK Porter. It should say on the handles.

To elaborate, the first tool is a socket set designed to take up as little room as possible when in storage - thus the suggestion that it's a motorcycle tool, as you want your toolkit as compact as possible on a motorcycle.  These were not uncommon at one time, but the allure of ratchets kind of doomed them.

Thanks for all the help. I may try to trade them on this forum. I am not a tool guy, I am a military collector, picked these up at a small local auction
