Title: Pexto 11-7 pliers
Post by: HeelSpur on July 27, 2014, 06:39:40 AM
I have searched every place that I know of including a google search and haven't seen one pair of these. Just trying to find what era they came from.

You might research here: http://home.comcast.net/~alloy-artifacts/peck-stow-wilcox.html#history (http://home.comcast.net/~alloy-artifacts/peck-stow-wilcox.html#history).

It always makes me a little sad to find the Pexto name - the company should have stuck with the full, glorious name, in my opinion.  Regardless of which marketing name is on them, though, they're great tools.  Their wood chisels are in the top tier of vintage chisels.

Thanks Bill, says PEXTO first used in 1947.

That was quick. To keep this alive can anyone help with a time frame for these 3 PEXTO's.

All three have the PEXTO oval and Made in USA and no other markings.

I have a PEXTO catalog #26T, dated 1927 which has all 3 of those tools in it.
The scraper is listed as a Plumber's Scraper.
You could buy the chisel handles separately too.

Thanks, bunger!!  Thank goodness not all old catalogs went to that small building with a half moon cut into the door.
