Title: Steam wrenches?

I found this pair in a pawn shop, never seen their like before.   The bigger of the pair has an opening of 2-3/8 and has the letter K as the only marking.  The smaller is a Warren  Webster, once a high profile heating system provider, maybe someone with experience in steam heat can chime in?   Compared to general use wrenches they are very short for their  jaw size.  Both have seen some hammering on the shank, but no real damage.

Octagon box ends are always interesting (the larger end on "K" has 8 flats).  Maybe for a hub cap & bearing cone adjusting nut?
WARREN WEBSTER always seems to be associated with steam or circulating hot water heating systems -- have not figured out the specific application within one of those systems.
