Has Ford script on it, looks like Model T era, could it have been from the H.F School? Some thing to look thru the books over winter.
Nice!!
Might be from a Ford dealer's tools
No nothing special but I`ll take it just to be a good bloke
Ya, as long as you're just melting it down for scrap anyhow....
;P
Auto dealers dented up their cars too...(ha!)
I can see ford supplying dealer marked body tools,
but this one is novel so far...
I don't think it would be a dealer item, there would have been a bunch of them... My Heller expert buddy has passed away so I'm searching for answers.
Looks like one more tool for wish list....
The "oldgolay" didn't say where he is from, but around these parts , Detroit / Dearborn tools show up fairly frequently with the Ford script. The pix is of a combination square blade with the Ford script. The imprint does not appear to have been stamped (blade is hard) but rather etched or perhaps stamped before heat treat. I looked thru the Ford trade School "Shop Theory" book , all the illustrations of the tools shown all show the manufacturers logo, if any logo shows at all.

Joe,
I'm in Stiles-Herman, Medart, Barrett country aka St.Louis area. HF trade school is what it may have come from? I have a few of the books from there, need to do some homework on what makes a complete set of books.
oldgoaly, this info might be helpful in your research.... from a little pamphlet on the history of the HF TS.
The book that I have is "Shop Theory" soft cover, copyright 1934 revised 1941 , the book is 7/8 inch thick (pages are not consecutively numbered)

Better send that one my way, it can relax in with a bunch of other old timers about the same age it is. Would be just perfect for me and the hammer! LOL :cheesy:
UB,
just took out 1/2 the windows in my shop to make more Wall space!
So I will have just the perfect place to hang it!
Thank you for the kind offer!
Drat the luck!
