Hello,
I have this tire iron that my dad bought on an auction that works better then any tire iron I have used before. I am trying to get one for my brother and my cousin for Christmas. I am trying to figure out if there is a special name for it or if someone would be able to make one. Making one would not be hard its just making it out of the right material and getting the right treatment to be able to use the thing that would be hard for me. It is made out 3/4" rod and is about 18" long the shape at the end makes ideal to set in the safety bead groove and pry to get under the rubber in the second part of taking off the tire (the part where I have seen many just use a hammer). Any info would be great. If any blacksmiths out there that think they would have the right set of tools and knowledge I live in the Fox Valley area of Wisconsin.
Thanks

The first place I would look would be a full line auto parts store. Then I'd be checking the *truckers store* at most major truck stops. If those don't do it, stop at the tire store that does truck tires, they should be able to tell you what jobber supplies their basic tools like this. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to Tool Talk!
That sure looks like a heavy duty screwdriver repurposed as a tire iron
In my experience, there are many tire irons available on the current market and from vintage makers that work great.

Looks a lot like a drum brake adjusting tool. How long is it?

If you have access to a torch and 5 lb hammer it wouldn't take long to reshape a standard tire to look like that.
