The writing on the handle is hard to read -- it looks like Asto Fitschenbeitel. I am guessing that this tool is some kind of mortise chisel, but I am not sure. I have seen a lot of chisels, but none like this one.

I like that chisel, I am also now wanting to know the deal. Is it for sale?

I will be starting it as an auction in my Ebay Store (wvtools) later today. The usual starting price 9.99 plus 5.00 S/H/F. All of the Whatsits I list this winter will be put in my Ebay Store. I will try to post a link to it later, but the last time I tried to do that I had operator error problems.

That handle looks suspiciously "icepick like" to me. Really icepick like.
Could that weird tip on the chisel have something to do with ice sculpture, or bulk/commercial ice handling maybe?

It's no kind of mortise chisel, that's for sure. I think Scott might be on the right track.

From the name, my first thought was Albanian muskie lures. But seriously folks, how about a very dedicated lathe chisel? I don't understand the holes. Why weaken the tool? Why the heavy duty striking handle?
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!
