I thought I had lost this one. I hadn't seen it in years. My dad gave it to me for Christmas around the early 80's. It worked really well for what it is and when I used to install lots of door hardware I kept a tap in it to thread holes with. Just the right speed and not enough torque to break taps, except for the very smallest.

The down side is no removable batteries. You have to charge the whole drill. And now that I'm thinking about it, it came with an incorrect chuck key and I could never find the right one. I couldn't find the charger cable. I'll have to look around some more and see if it turns up.

are those prongs the same size as on the old waffle makes & irons ?
if so, they are still around at junk shops & flea markets in odd lots.

Hmmm. That's a thought. I'll have to try and find out the voltage. I suppose I could build something to fit.

First thing you need do is open the case and count the cells. They are usually 4/5 C NiCad.
You don't want to charge at more than 1.5 volts per cell.
I can't recall if Craftsman put a rectifier inside the drill or not.

Batteries are probably cycled out by now... problem with cordless, the batteries die & it cost almost as much to replace as a new drill..
Don't plug directly into wall plug, may blowup...

I still have my dads old skill cordless drill, it probably works but the batteries are worthless. i found the batteries online one time but they weren't worth the money.
With the new cordless technology compared to when it was made you just can't compare the two.
