Hello, All. I pulled this out of the hammer bin, wondering if anyone else has seen one of these. Patented on one side of the head, looks like Lapeer Mich , and a company name on the other side. Brass faces look to be removable, steel? malleable iron? head. Width across head with inserts is approx. 4-3/4", brass faces are 1-3/16" dia. Thannks, Lou

Interesting hammer I don't recall seeing that style before.

Nor have I. How are those faces held in?

looks like friction fit and also looks like you would use a tapered drift to drive the face
out to change.
just my 2 cent opinion.

Hello, Turnnut. I took a closer look, and you are right, most likely friction fit from the head , and a drift would be used to remove the brass inserts. Thanks, Lou

Neat, never seen one of those before
